This summer has seen colourful brights officially back on the beauty agenda. With the likes of Bella Hadid, Poppy Delevingne, Vanessa Hudgens, Kim Kardashian, name a celeb and you’re almost guaranteed they’ve been rocking orange, blue or green eyeshadow at some point.

The summer 18 beauty trend has been music to my ears, as I absolutely love summer. I love it because it’s a time of year when colour is celebrated. As a make-up artist and keen abstract painter, for me, colour is everything. It’s a way to express your mood and style, but, when it comes to using colourful make-up, many of my clients often express a bit of nervousness and I understand this completely. I always work on ‘the rule of balance’ when introducing any amount of colour into a make-up look. A hint of colour in one area matched with a nude colour pallet in the other – simple!
Whilst the weather is still hot, if you want to get involved and keep the summer 18 beauty trend going, my advice would be to go for it, there’s no reason why this colourful look can’t even be transitioned into the Autumn! Be confident with adding flashes of colour on eyes, lips or both! Have some fun shopping for colourful eyeshadows, lipstick or gloss and pop it on and go, don’t overthink it. A streak of blue eyeliner for example will add a dash of the summer 18 beauty trend to any look. Whether you’re heading to a pool party, out with your girls for cocktails or to a sunny Sunday BBQ, applying a pop of colour onto your eyes will most definitely give you a spring in your step and show that you are all over this colourful trend too!
For some full colour inspiration on this hot look, I created some playful beauty styles using splashes of bright shadows and colour popping glosses finished with all over glowy sun kissed skin. These make-up looks were inspired by holiday days, spent in the pool, chilling on unicorn inflatable, sipping a summery cocktail – perfect!
