With the recent snow still settled on the hilltops, The International 2017 at Cheltenham Racecourse looked exceptionally beautiful. Racegoers braved the cold and made their way to the final day of racing, before the racecourse closes until New Year. Between the excitement of races many took a step outside into the cold, taking a moment to relax and walk around The Shopping Village or have a warming drink at the Hot Toddy and Mulled Wine bar.
One of the first exhibitor stands that I came across in The Shopping Village is Will Bees Bespoke. Nowadays, many of the items you find on the high street are mass produced; but you can be assured that with Wills products not one will be the same. Inspired by the history and local scenery ofSalcombe, each bag comes to life in his workshop.
With over 500 materials to choose from and your own personalised leather name tag, anything is possible for Will Bees Bespoke items, from mini pouches and cosmetic bags, to backpacks and totes.
With the winter nights drawing in and Christmas fast approaching, the next question is what to wear for the New Year’s Race meet. The cold winds are no problem for the handmade garments from Maude and Fox, they combine luxury British tweed with the perfect tailoring, in order to keep you warm during the coldest season. These stunning contemporary coats are fleece lined, so no matter if you’re at the Racetrack or out on your family shoot, you will stay warm even in the chilliest conditions.
With New Year’s just around the corner, the Spring clothing lines will shortly be in shops across the UK. With Spring also comes the Biggest event of the year; The Cheltenham Festival.
For such a grand event, every racegoer will understand the importance of a hat, whether it’s a simple Grimwith cap or a stunning fox hat; everyone wishes to stand out from the crowd. If you are looking for an exquisite, handmade hat, then Jonny Beardsall’s exhibition is one to pay a visit to. Each hat is unique and is ensured to turn heads. If none of the hats are to your taste, you can always provide Jonny with your own fur in order to have a sensational hat made in your own style.
Leaving the races with a few healthy bets is always the best way to finish the day, before heading back into Cheltenham town for a few drinks. For any horse lover a Harriet Glen Creation is also a worthy memento of a glorious day at Cheltenham Racecourse. Her stunning handiwork gives life to many well-known characters including this stunning bronze sculpture of Thistlecrack.
